Shy Cat Befriends Woman, Then Introduces Her To Kittens: ‘Been Chosen’

Must read

A stray cat’s sweet friendship with a woman has melted hearts on social media after a video of the feline introducing her kittens to her human friend went viral on social media.

In the clip, shared on TikTok in May under the username @kendallmontunnas, the poster can be seen petting the black cat, who is seen near a tree, guarding it as if trying to protect something.

“I’ve been slowly befriending the mom and it’s starting to work,” layover text on the clip reads. “I thoughts she was sad because someone took her babies (I haven’t seen them all day).”

But then all of a sudden, three small kittens pop out one by one, a tabby and two darker ones, which the cat kindly allows her human friend to meet.

“I’m so happy she’s trusting me, and around her babies too?? This is a crazy amount of progress!” says a caption shared with the viral clip.

Befriending a stray cat takes time and patience, but can be an incredibly rewarding experience. However, when coming across a stray cat it’s important to see if it’s feral first, so that you can prepare to approach the situation in the best way.

British animal charity, Blue Cross, explains that feral cats have not been socialized and live outdoors like wild cats. Because they’re usually very scared of people it’s best to just leave them alone.

Lost and stray cats are usually more friendly and don’t shy away from people, in fact, they tend to roam around homes.

Before taking a stray in, you should always take them to your local vet and check if they’re micro-chipped and already have a home.

The video quickly went viral on TikTok and has so far received more than 783,000 views and 83,800 likes on the platform.

One user, Gamebiologist, commented: “The way she told those babies, ‘get over here and say hello to the human I’ve picked for us to live with.”

La_La wrote: “She really trusts you, cats don’t expose their bellies if they don’t feel safe. You are in an amazing position to help her and babies even if it just getting them desexed with help if needed.”

ChangeItUp2022 added: “You’ve been chosen.”
